The Pursuit Of Passion Leads To Happiness

We are born with a passion, this passion would have been something we did as a kid long before we were weighed down by the shackles of adulthood. We would have spent all day or night on it, not for fame and fortune, not for the approval of others, but because it simply brought us happiness. Times seemed simpler back then and the honest truth is because we allowed it to be.

As adults the biggest mistake we can make is abandoning the very things that once brought us happiness. There is no logical reasoning for this other than the fact that we have convinced ourselves we cannot do something simply because it cannot provide for us or our families. And by convincing ourselves of this lie we have managed to starve ourselves of the very happiness that makes life worth living. Life is meant to be filled with purpose and meaning both for ourselves and for something greater. By starving ourselves of happiness we have forced ourselves to find vices and distractions to numb the pain and emptiness. The reality of these vices and distractions is that they do not add value and often create more darkness and more despair within our lives.

Life is a never ending cycle of highs and lows and we never know what the road ahead will bring. There will come many points in our lives where we must accept our current circumstances for what they are, voluntary or involuntary, we must put down the shovel and begin the climb out of the hole of darkness that we have created for ourselves.

I know how impossible of a task that can be, trust me, but for ourselves we must muster up all the strength and courage we have and begin the climb. One month at a time, one week at a time, even one minute a time if we have to. For our own self-preservation we must climb.

Courage is not about acting in the absence of fear, it is about acting despite feeling enormous amounts of fear. So be courageous, the pursuit of your passion can change your life and bring you happiness!
